The Orange Grove offices are an extension to the successful startup incubator which is an initiative of the Dutch embassy in Athens. The original Orange Grove consists of an open co-working space that introduces both functionally and architecturaly the triple concept of mobility, flexibility and connectivity. The new offices facilitates the next step in the development of the startup companies by providing individual offices.
The Orange Grove look and feel has been maintained throughout the new design, to create a sense of unity with the original Orange Grove. Again a bright colourful and inspiring character of the space was seeked, with extended use of graphics and symbols refering to industrial and harbour environment, the Netherlands and Greece, and obviously to oranges.
To unite the extension as a whole, the three offices of the ground floor and the two on the mezzanine have semi-transparent partitions and are linked by common collaboration areas. The partition system that divides them contains a custom made glass-polycarbonate sandwich that allows the required semi-transparency but also achieves a high level of sound-insulation.
The Orange Grove offices were constructed through an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation
